"Arbonne Omega 3 Plus and Restorative Day Cream Review

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

Arbonne® is well known for creating products that are vegan-certified and formulated without animal products, animal by- products, gluten, parabens, formaldehyde-donating preservatives, PABA and the following petroleum-based ingredients: Benzene, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Phthalates and Toluene.

Arbonne is also cruelty free and does not test any product on animals.

Why should you care? Because you are what you eat and whatever you put on your skin gets into your body.

Because Arbonne is inspired by nature and strives to create high quality products, I'm always excited when I get a chance to try their new creations.

This spring, Arbonne launched 5 great new products. I had a chance to review 2 of them and will give you the details in this post.

The first product I reviewed was Arbonne Essentials® Omega-3 Plus. This product contains flaxseed oil and algal derived DHA to provide a vegetarian omega-3 fatty acid supplement that also includes DHA. I really like this product. How many times have you taken an omega-3 supplement, only to have it come back up with an ishy fishy aftertaste. Yuck!  Besides tasting horrible and being non-vegan (and non-vegetarian!) fish oil tablets go rancid very quickly.

I was so happy to find an Omega-3 source from a trusted company that used all vegetarian sources. This is a very valuable supplement, especially with our abundance of omega-6 food products in the American diet.

The second product I reviewed was RE9 Advanced  Extra Moisture Restorative Day Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen. This cream is uniquely formulated for drier skins (that's me!) and features high concentrations of moisture-enhancing ingredients that support collagen. It also contains broad spectrum sunscreen.

For the past 20 years (yes twenty!) have alternated between two daytime face creams, and I am hesitant to change routines. I'm picky about what I put on my face, and I'm always concerned with breaking out. Knowing that this product was free of parabens and other artificial gunk made me okay with trying it.

Guess what? I really, really like it. It goes on very light and is easy to apply. It has a very faint orange scent - a very welcome scent after some of the "natural" products I've tried. I've been using it for a few weeks and have not had any breakouts or troubles. My skin feels soft. As far as actual moisturizing, it's hard for me to say whether it's better or worse than my usual brands. It feels great and I think it's working well, but it's summer right now and my dry times happen in winter.

I can tell you that it's a very nice cream. I love that it has broad spectrum SPF 20 and that it goes on so light. I would feel comfortable making this my everyday day cream.

The other products that Arbonne recently released include fruit and chocolate nutrition bars, energy promoting fizz sticks and a limited-edition rainforest inspired eye shadow palette set.
